Soooo…I challenged myself to do the NoBloPoMo this year, and so far I am failing miserably (I missed November 2-5.) Sigh. I have, however, made it to the gym every morning this week…a HUGE personal accomplishment…so at least my self-esteem isn’t at rock bottom. Hahaha.
I launched my blog last October, and had a beautiful map for 3 months on what I was going to post and when…unfortunately, in mid-November, I fell off the blogosphere. Partly because I had decided to take a brief hiatus due to a bit of a stalker “fan”, partly because life happened. One fateful fun evening December, an unexpected “friend date” became more than that, and I started dating the love of my life…my now fiancé. My life turned completely upside down in the THE. MOST. AMAZING. way.
This October, I made a goal to post twice a week. I’ve been doing pretty well so far, but it is definitely a challenge to produce quality content in addition to my Pays-the-Bills job that I spend at LEAST 8 hours a day doing, planning my quickly approaching wedding, maintaining in-person relationships, and generally living life. I have tons of ideas, a long list of projects, and more hobbies than I can count. Blogging about living the artful life is a perfect outlet for me… but HOLY MOLY does it take a lot of time! Don’t get me wrong, I love writing, photography, and social media. I love crafting a blog post – crafting anything really, organizing the content, coming up with new ideas, developing themes, designing the extra little doohickys, icons, and fun additions that make the blog pleasing to the eye…but man, it takes so. much. time. It is quite an undertaking to produce quality content on a regular basis. I applaud every blogger out there.
I am still challenging myself to BlogHer’s NoBloPoMo, because growing my blog is part of a dream that I am determined to continue persuing, but I just wanted to say for those who may think blogging is just a fluffy easy-peezy cutesy side project…it is so much more.
Happy Thursday and GO TIGERS!!
