Well, two months from today Van and I tie the knot! I’m so excited and SO in the midst of wedding planning. It’s crunch time now, y’all. I have already mailed the thank you notes from our first shower, we have an engagement party at the beach this weekend hosted by some of my parents friends (so sweet), and my house is a craft-a-palooza. Wedding. Stuff. Is. Everywhere.
Oh, and by the way, I have a day job too.
I’m super pumped to marry my amazing Van man in 2 months, but every once in a while this girl needs a break from the hullaballoo… at which point I’ve been mostly day-dreaming of how I’m going to decorate the house when I have free time again post-wedding. I had to get some paint for a wedding project a few weeks ago and, well, since I was already at the paint counter…. I got several paint samples of the chips I’ve had hanging on my walls for a few months now… (hoping they’d satisfy my need for color until I had time to actually use a brush and roller..again, post wedding). Well, now I have 12″x12″ squares of paint in several rooms. hahahahaha. One is bright orange in my dining room just beckoning me to finish, so that room might just get painted BEFORE the wedding if I can find an afternoon to do it.
I’ve always pretty much identified myself as having eclectic style. I like a little of this, a little of that as long as they look nice together. I just inherited a very special dining room suit that’s dark and somewhat dainty. I have a really cool mid-century mosaic coffee table, and several other pieces that I love. I’m building a varying and growing collection of original artwork by people other than myself. I’m always looking for interesting ways to group various collections, and I like texture, visual interest, practicality, and color.
The house where we will live is a charming little brick ranch on a corner lot.
I’ll be posting pictures as we get settled in, but until then… Here are some of my favorite recent finds for inspiration – click on any of the images below to get to their source posts and articles:
There’s a lot of pink in there, though…I do have to keep in mind that Van doesn’t want to live in pepto bismol land. HAHAHA. Happy Hump Day everyone! Hope you’re having a great week!
