About Lauren Cop

Lauren grew up in Bucks County which is northeast of Philadelphia. She started her college career at Clemson University studying Computer Science and playing rugby. But after several different trial and errors, she finished with a BS in Social Studies Education. During college, she worked at various restaurants in downtown Clemson and studied abroad to Ghana and Peru. After college, she started teaching high school social studies and coaching volleyball and track at Pickens High School (Go Blue Flame). After she found out she was pregnant with her first child, she decided to stay at home and raise her children – although she still coaches volleyball and track in her ‘me time’. She has had 5 undefeated JV Volleyball seasons, been an assistant coach for back-to-back state champions, and has sent 3 athletes to the State Championships in the 400m hurdles.

Lauren’s hobbies include gardening, cooking, and traveling – all with her family. They plant a garden every season and always try to plant a new crop every year. She makes sure to include her children in the process of preparing the ground, planting, and harvesting the fruits of their labor. Lauren also enjoys cooking with her family as well, especially with fresh goods from her garden or local ingredients and, of course, trying new recipes and revamping old ones. Traveling is a big portion of Lauren’s family life; whether it is on work trips with her husband, visiting family living far away, or even for leisure.

Lauren’s passion however, has and always will lie with her family. She is the daughter of a Yankee and a Southern Belle. The granddaughter of a German immigrant, New York Italian, Slovakian Ohio native, and English Southern Georgian farmers. With all of these unique influences and walks of life it has left Lauren a determined, sassy, and caring individual. She has been with her husband for 10 years and married for 4. She also has a 1 year old daughter (Noli) and a 2 year old daughter (Viv) that have given her life more love then she ever thought imaginable. Look for Lauren’s blog posts on her style of parenting, being a mother, relationships, crafting, and other fun topics.
