About Mae Mae

Amanda Lovelace, known to many as Mae Mae, was born and raised in Upstate South Carolina where she continues to reside. She obtained her Veterinary Technology degree at Tri-County Technical College in 2008. Upon graduation she worked for one of the top Veterinary Referral Hospitals in the North America, a Greenville based company, Upstate Veterinary Specialists (UVS). Amanda served as a licensed technician, LVT, in the Internal Medicine Department for seven years and is proud to have been part of the team that’s helped UVS grow into one of the leading animal hospitals that it is today.

However for the last seven months, she’s decided to slow it down a bit and cut the commute out of her life. She’s changed her occupation to an office coordinator in her father’s architectural business where she is more able to enjoy her free time.   In that free time, she chooses to read, craft, tease her husband, and ponders exercising. Her favorite hobby of them all, reading! Although teasing her husband is fun, too! Amanda is married to a WONDERFUL man, Sheldon Lovelace, who treats her like a queen. Along with him, three cats and three dogs fill their home providing extensive entertainment.

Family is very important to Amanda and she considers herself one of the luckiest girls in the world to have such a loving and supporting family. She is a proud Aunt of six and loves spoiling the kiddos rotten! Amanda is also fortunate to have such amazing friends that she cherishes and is proud to call framily! They understand and accept that she will always be a Disney Princess at heart. Disney music is her happy place and you may even catch a performance if you stick around… 🙂

Reading is something she enjoys to the fullest. Hours can disappear quickly when her nose is in a book. Especially rainy days snuggled under a blanket. And grilled cheeses!! Amanda is a charter member of a local book club, a member of the Junior League of Anderson County (JLAC), and a current board member of the South Carolina Association of Veterinary Technicians (SCAVT). When she can’t be found at home, you can find her on a date with her husband to the local grocery store.

Amanda’s dream job would be to be a stay-at-home mom with a full-time maid and laundry service, along with a reading nook in every room of the house. She plans on sacrificing and just getting the stay-at-home part as soon as possible (with only one reading nook)!
